Bala Song Don’t Be Shy Row: Makers Of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Film Clear Dr Zeus' Copyright Allegations; Say They Have The Official License
After Bala’s latest song Don’t Be Shy was released a few days ago, music composer-singer Dr Zeus slammed the makers of plagiarizing his song. Now, makers of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer have clarified that the copyright owners of the original song have issued a legitimate license to recreate the song for their film
Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film Bala hasn’t released yet and it is already embroiled in controversy. First with the clash of Bala with Ujda Chaman and the makers of Ujda Chaman dragging Bala to court. And now, for Bala’s latest song Don’t Be Shy. The part number seems to be a credit song that will be playing at the end and we can see rapper Badshah who has also crooned this song. Soon after it’s release, the audience was quick to recall the original track from 2008. While the Bala song was much loved by fans, the song’s original creator Dr Zeus slammed the makers of plagiarism.
Dr. Zeus tweeted on Friday, October 18, “Are u guys taking the piss @sonymusicindia @MaddockFilms @Its_Badshah @SonyMusicUK @SachinJigarLive wen did u compose don’t b shy & kangna.. more to the point how dare u guys b riding off ma old hits & fuckin them up??? Ya need to get original lawyers will b in touch.” Now, makers of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala have clarified that the copyright owners of the original song have issued a legitimate license to recreate the song for their film. They clarified that Karman Entertainment, who holds the worldwide rights to the song Don’t Be Shy gave an official license to Maddock Films for the re-creation rights of the song. Meanwhile, after Dr. Zeus slammed the Bala team, rapper Badshah also took to Twitter sharing a note that Dr Zeus was right to be angry and that any misunderstandings would get cleared soon.
Bala starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar will hit the theatres on November 7, 2019.
